Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

1. Estimates and Quotations

  • Estimates and quotations are based on the information available at the time. The total price may differ from the quotation due to issues arising during the work being carried out.
  • Additional faults may only become apparent once work has commenced.
  • If further work or parts are required, we will contact the customer for approval before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
  • All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

2. Payment

  • Payment is due immediately upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods are: Bank Transfer, Card or Cash.
  • Late payments may incur interest and reasonable recovery costs where permitted by law.

3. Parts

  • We may supply genuine, OEM, aftermarket or reconditioned parts.
  • All parts remain our property until paid for in full.
  • Customer-supplied parts are fitted entirely at the customer's own risk. We cannot guarantee the quality, compatibility or performance of customer-supplied parts and accept no liability for faults arising from their use.

4. Workmanship Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for 3 months or 3,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

This guarantee covers defects arising solely from our workmanship.

The guarantee does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Unrelated mechanical or electrical faults.
  • Failure of parts due to manufacturing defects.
  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, neglect or lack of maintenance.
  • Repairs or modifications carried out by anyone else after our work has been completed.

If a fault is found to be covered under this workmanship guarantee, we will rectify the workmanship at no additional labour charge.

5. Parts Warranty

Where applicable, parts supplied and fitted by us are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

If a part fails due to a manufacturing defect during the warranty period, we will assist the customer in making a warranty claim with the supplier or manufacturer.

Please note that manufacturer warranties generally cover the replacement part only and do not reimburse labour costs. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, labour required to remove and refit a warranty replacement part will be chargeable to the customer.

Warranty claims are subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions. The failed part may need to be inspected or returned before a replacement part is authorised.

6. Diagnostic Work

Diagnostics are a process of investigation and fault elimination and, due to the complexity of modern vehicles, an initial diagnosis or suspected cause may change as further testing is completed. We cannot guarantee that a single repair will resolve every fault.

In some cases, additional faults may only become apparent once repairs have commenced or after an initial fault has been rectified. We cannot guarantee that the first suspected fault or recommended repair will resolve the issue completely, and further diagnostic work, testing, parts or labour may be required. Diagnostic charges apply regardless of the final outcome or whether additional repairs are authorised.

7. Mobile Repairs

  • The customer must provide a safe, legal and suitable location for work to be carried out.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or postpone work where conditions are considered unsafe. Including unstable ground or dangerous roadside locations.

8. Customer Responsibilities

The customer confirms that:

  • They are authorised to instruct repairs on the vehicle.
  • They have disclosed any known faults or modifications that may affect the work.
  • The vehicle is parked in a safe and suitable location for repair.

9. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the repair carried out.

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of earnings or business.
  • Loss of use of the vehicle.
  • Recovery, towing or hire vehicle costs.
  • Any indirect or consequential losses.

10. Cancellations

If an appointment is cancelled after parts have been ordered, the customer may be responsible for the cost of those parts.

We ask customers to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or rearrange an appointment.

If appointments are cancelled within 24 hours, a cancellation fee may apply.

11. Road Testing

Where necessary, we may carry out a road test before and/or after repairs to diagnose faults or confirm that repairs have been successfully completed. By choosing us to do the work, the customer consents to us driving their vehicle as appropriate.

Complaints and Concerns

If you have any concerns or wish to raise a complaint regarding work carried out by us, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible by emailing enquiries@jjmobilemechanics.co.uk

Please include the following information:

  • Your full name and contact details.
  • Vehicle registration, make and model.
  • Date the work was carried out.
  • Invoice number (if available).
  • A clear description of your concern or the fault experienced.
  • Photographs or videos where appropriate.

Upon receiving your complaint, we will acknowledge it and arrange to inspect the vehicle where necessary.

The customer must provide us with a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and, where applicable, rectify any issue covered under our workmanship guarantee before any repairs are carried out by another repairer.

We will not be responsible for the cost of repairs, labour or replacement parts carried out by a third party without our prior written agreement, except where required by law.

Failure to notify us and allow us the opportunity to inspect or rectify the issue may invalidate any claim under our workmanship guarantee.
